About ELTA
Streamlining ELT methods since 2003.
It is an association of English language teachers of Telangana State working in all types of government schools and Schools funded by the government. It aimed at uniting all the English language teachers working in Government sector for professional development.
It also aimed to take up the programmes to help the students studying in Government Schools to enhance their language skills and to guide them to address their English classroom issues by bringing out the special issues.
It’s purely a platform for teachers to enhance the teaching skills and help the student community to become the better learners and self users of language. It has been credited with conducting numerous programmes for enrichment of English language skills among both teaching community and student community.
It is not a teachers union. Member of any teachers union or organization can join this association.
Milestones
- 2003Established in erstwhile Warangal District and registered under the Societies Registration Act, Regd. No. 196/2003.
- 2017Converted into a state-level association, Regd. No. 196/2003/A/2018.
- TodayELTA bodies formed in 30 districts of Telangana, working towards bringing all teachers of the state on to a single platform.
Vision
ELTA envisions to bring the all the teachers of English at school level working in Telangana on to the single platform and create an environment to share the English language skills and teaching experiences so that they can develop teaching competencies.
ELTA shall develop a movement empowering teachers to make every learner of English globally competent.
ELTA act as a catalyst and facilitator to non language teachers also to enhance their skills in using English as a medium of instruction so that make the students studying in government schools globally fit.
Mission
- To undertake innovative Programmes/Conduct Orientation Programmes to the English teaching fraternity to improve their skills in TLP.
- To share the teaching learning experiences through common platform.
- To develop materials which help both teachers and students to overcome their classroom transactions.
- To undertake innovative projects aimed at the improvement of learners’ proficiency in English.
- To cooperate & participate in the activities that are taken up by the department related to English language time to time.
- To represent the issues, interests and needs of fraternity to the government time to time.
- To conduct State Level Seminars, Symposiums, Workshops etc., to exchange and enhance skills.
